The upgraded BIONZ X processor helps deliver high-resolution images with accurate colors and reduced noise at higher ISOs. Additionally, Sony A7 III features 4K video recording capabilities at 30 fps with full pixel readout that enables 8x zoom while maintaining oversampling quality like other cameras in its category do not have this feature.

Camera Type: Mirrorless

Mirrorless cameras are smaller and lighter than DSLRs, making them more portable. They have a shorter lag time between shots, which is ideal for fast-paced action sequences. And because they use a smaller sensor than DSLRs, you can get away with using less expensive lenses without sacrificing image quality.

However, mirrorless cameras tend to have a shorter battery life than their larger counterparts. The A7 III has an APS-C sensor, so some of its features have been disabled or altered compared to full-frame models like the A9 or A7R IV—which also use Sony’s E-mount. Camera Format: Full-Frame

The Sony A7 III features a full-frame sensor. This is the same size as a 35mm film frame, which means it’s larger than the APS-C sensors in most mirrorless cameras and smaller than the APS-H sensors found in some DSLRs. Full-frame sensors capture more information than their cropped siblings do at any given moment, so you can crop your photos to bring out detail or zoom in on them without losing quality.

Pixels Actual: 24.2 Megapixel

The Sony A7 III features 24.2 megapixels of resolution, which is a pretty big number, especially for a mirrorless camera. This is the same amount of megapixels as you’d find in Nikon’s beastly D850 DSLR—a fact that makes some photographers understandably nervous about switching to Sony’s new camera.

However, if you’re used to shooting with one of these smaller mirrorless cameras (or even smartphone), it might be hard to get over how many pixels the A7 III has compared to your current setup. But don’t worry: there are plenty of reasons why those extra little dots can actually make a world of difference when it comes time for printing or cropping images down later on.
